Pier 26 kosher restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
This kosher (under supervision of VHQ) restaurant is a high end , white table cloth dairy restaurant specializing in fish and pasta. The menu is very "foodie" oriented, with many unusual items . Some of them work very well, others not so much. I was very glad to see this type of restaurant opened on Main Street, as there was no high end place to take a client or for family events. The decor is beautiful , as you can see from the pictures. It's not too loud- the restaurant was about half full when I was there and you could have a conversation without screaming. The background music was a little loud for my taste, but it wasn't too annoying. Service was very good- the waitress clearly knew the menu and was able to answer our questions. Their is an extensive wine and spirit list, but surprisingly , no beer availability. I have been to several kosher restaurants with several types of craft beer : perhaps they haven't gotten around to it yet. I had the Branzino, with corn chowder. The fish was too heavily fried. The frying seems to cover the flavor- essentially it was like a very expensive ($44) fried fish sandwich. However, the corn chowder was great-very complex, with lots of different flavors that worked together very well. My wife had as an appetizer the Ninja Star appetizer, which was also overly fried. Other people who have eaten at the restaurant have said their entree was fried and greasy. I didn't find my meal too greasy but it was definitely heavily fried. I love that a restaurant comes in and tries all kinds of interesting, unusual dishes- it's not surprising not all of them work. I hope the restaurant is successful. I plan to come again soon.
Amazing food, attentive staff and a great atmosphere. This is exactly what Main Street had been missing. Food is fresh and delicious, served quickly with a beautiful presentation. A must visit and a must come back. Don’t miss out
Absolutely delicious all around. Ambience is spectacular customer service was incredible and the food is beyond excellent. The whole fish the homemade pasta the deconstructed cheesecake and midnight snack dessert was sumptuous. In the most refined manner the best description of this restaurant is “Yummy“. We will be back.
Pros: Delicious food and drinks. Enormous portions. Each dish can feed at least 2 people. Greetings from the executive chef and decent service overall. Cons: Prices are slightly higher than they should be. Paying close to 40 dollars for pasta (handmade, and a show) still seems steep. As mentioned above the service was decent. Could be warmer with letting the diners eat without having to constantly ask to remove “possible empty plates” where they have food on them. Lastly, almost none of the servers were wearing masks and that creates too much room for error. For that reason, I’m out. -Suggestion would be to give a heads up (about the masks) for those making reservations in advance. (Even if there’s no mandate) Overall, I would recommend this for those able to splurge a bit on a definitely unique experience. Side note: noticed a slight price increase already from what the menu says online. For a restaurant that just opened. -Suggestion would be to give the community time to acclimate and build up a reputation before making that leap. Good luck to pier26! Hope you succeed the best that you can.
Delicious food, amazing ambiance, and quick great service. Server was attentive. Will definitely be coming back
Very delicious food. The service was really fast. Most of the food came in less than 12 minutes. This is our second time here, I know for sure I’ll be here for a 3rd time. Very good food and service.
This up and coming place is worth a visit. The chef is an artist and the restaurant is his gallery. If your a seafood lover, you can’t go wrong with any of the entrees here. If you’re not that into seafood, try the fresh Alfredo spaghetti with table side cheese block service. You have to see it to understand, and then you get to taste it, and it’s truly wonderful. From the amount of times we saw the pasta / cheese cart exit the kitchen for the tableside performance, it must be a popular choice. Move over chicken and waffles, there’s a seafood version here that’s a work of art and delicious. Leave room for dessert. There are many interesting and unique choices like midnight munchies, strawberry cheesecake, and a chocolate mousse ball thingy. Lots of free on street parking in the area. Family friendly and also good for couples. You might need a reservation as this place grows in popularity.
The upgrade of this restaurant from what it was to what it is now is incredible! Our waitress Nikki started our night off with an energetic smile and enthusiastic appeal. She explained the menu to us so perfectly and was patient with our requests. She adds to the greatness of the restaurant. Additionally, the food is so yum with excellent presentation. The chef knows what he’s doing and he knows how to perfect his style. Amazing place to be
